We offer the weekly GFNY group rides because we want you to accomplish your cycling goals at Gran Fondo New York, keep you motivated through chilly winter and spring and set you up for a successful 2013 season.

The groups are led by members of the Gruppo Sportivo Gran Fondo New York. There are 3 pace groups per ride. The average speeds for the three groups (these speeds are including hills; speeds on the flat sections are faster): Group A: 18-20mph, Group B: 16-18mph, Group C: 12-15mph). The group rides are meant to be social, and endurance-building. We don't do any sprint intervals, we leave that for your individual workouts during the week. If you're not sure between two pace groups, pick a pace that is comfortable for you.

The group rides take place every Sunday, rain or shine (no snow or ice). We assemble at 8:30-8:45am, announcements begin at 8:55am. Group A rolls at 9:00am, with Group B one minute later, and Group C another minute later.

The Gran Fondo New York group training rides are a free benefit for only registered GFNY 2013 participants.

Parking is available along Hudson Terrace. Please do not park at the Strictly Bicycles parking lot - this is intended for staff parking and short-term parking for customers visiting the shop.

Ride length will increase in the weeks and months leading up to Gran Fondo New York and will cover the race course, including the timed climbs.

Please be aware that this is a non supported ride. We're just a bunch of gals and guys having a good time together. Bring all the food/drink/spare tubes/some cash/credit cards/etc that you may need.

You must provide a signed waiver at your first group ride. After you give your signed waiver, you will receive a rubber GFNY wristband that you must wear for future group rides as proof that you've provided us with a signed waiver. To save time, please print and fill out a waiver at home and bring it to each ride. If you forget your waiver, there will be some blank waivers available at Strictly.

Wear a helmet and obey all traffic laws. Ride single file.
